My Work - #3

I was browsing through old photos on my computer when I came across this. Yes. That's a wallaby in sunglasses. Brad and I studied abroad in Australia in college. This was one of our many adventures.

It got me looking through some of my old adventures in photography. And I thought I'd share!

Melbourne, Australia

Outside of Manhattan, Kansas

Sydney, Australia

 Sydney, Australia

Bendigo, Australia

Marfa, Texas

 Outside of Marion, Kansas

Culver City, California

I used to be really interested in photography. I suppose I still am, I just don't seem to have time any more to focus on it. My plate is pretty full as it is! Hopefully someday I can get back into it...

Resolution #1 - Read more

I finished The Lost Dogs by Jim Gorant a couple days ago. Really a great book. It was definitely a hard read emotionally... very heartbreaking and painful at some points. But it was worth it. Through all the pain and loss, the book is about the triumph of these dogs. It's fantastic. Their strength and resilience is inspirational. I recommend all dog lovers out there read this.

Now I've started on One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. So far, so good! I'll review when I'm finished.

Diving right into those resolutions...

In the spirit of the new year and my resolution list, I'm going to do this:

Ugh! I just decided I was going to do this and I'm already kind of freaking out. I'm terrible with competitions. I'm not very competitive and I have a bad habit of getting really down on myself. So I'm really sort of taking on  resolution #6 AND resolution #12... and maybe a bit of resolution #9. Oh man, I hope I can do it... I'm not counting on winning or anything. But just getting the balls to actually enter will be a big step for me.

I resolve to do the following:

1 - read more books.
2 - get skinny (ha. doesn't everyone.)
3 - help Airlie be more awesome.
4 - draw more.
5 - paint more.
6 - sew more.
7 - spend less.
8 - become an architect (well, at least start the process.)
9 - stop sucking at taking myself seriously.
10 - take some risks.
11 - finish the house.
12 - screw anxiety. who needs it anyway.

I normally don't do resolutions. But ya know what? Doing what I normally do has only gotten me so far. Let's see what doing what I don't normally do will get me.

Twelve resolutions. Twelve months.

Wish me luck.
